(John 1:14, Rev. 19:13) #1 God hates divorce Mal. 2:16. Jesus hates divorce, and only gave one reason for a man to divorce (put away) his wife (Mat. 5:32,19:9, Mark 10:10-11,Luke 16:18). The woman is not allowed that option. If she considers herself to be a Christian woman, and files for divorce, she is not a Christian. "Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son." 2 John 1:9 If you are in this situation, pray for her to repent, especially, if there are children involved. If she has cheated on you, then you have a right to divorce her, however, that does not mean you are obligated to do so. We all fall short of the glory of God. She can repent, and become a good wife. However, if not, she is to abide by the Lord's command, see 1 Cor. 7:10-11.
